Natural Cleaning Tips
1. Using Baking Soda as a scrub - this common household item is 89 cents a box and is a natural deodorizer. Just add water to create a paste or a more water for a liquid scrub and store it in a plastic squeeze bottle. You can use this mixture to scrub your tub, your bathroom sink, your toilet, your kitchen sink, pots and pans - anything you would normally use a scouring brush for. Add a few drops of a favorite essential oil like grapefruit for a wonderful fragrance. Or better yet try our Good Home Tub and Tile which is made from baking soda!
2. 1 part vinegar and 3 parts water is an easy solution to clean your glass and windows and also your engagement ring! Do not add fragrance oils to vinegar solutions.
3. Tea Tree oil, eucalyptus oil, peppermint oil and rosemary oil are all essential oils that contain natural antibacterial properties. Add a few drops to a natural unscented hand soap from the health food store to create a natural anti-bacterial soap. Most mass brands use a lot of alcohol - which kills germs, but also dries out your skin. 4. Grind a quarter of a lemon, orange or grapefruit into your garbage disposal to clear out food odors.
5. Sprinkle a handful of lavender petals into a litter box to add freshness. As your cat scratches in the box - the lavender scent will natural be released and it will not harm your pet. |
