 No-Sew Footstool Slipcover I picked up an old footstool for about twenty bucks. The fabric was a little ratty and needed to be recovered. Since the legs weren't in much better shape. I decided to cover it instead of refinishing the whole stool. It took about 30 mins and I can clean the cover by tossing it into the wash. This project can easily be used on a table as well; you just need more fabric. Materials: Enough fabric to cover the entire surface of the footstool, plus and extra three inches on each side for a hem, ribbon, iron-on adhesive, iron Total Cost: $15 Total Time: 30 minutes Directions: Place the fabric on top of the stool so it covers all sides evenly. Pin up the sides like you would cuff a pair of pants, making sure all sides are even and almost touch the floor. Remove from the stool and make your hems using the iron-on adhesive. Once done, place the cover in position on top of the stool. Cut two holes on either corner of the fabric and thread the ribbon through. Tie a bow and trim the ribbon edges with pinking shears. |
